FAQ
-
Missional simply means, a church, life group, or person actively engaged with Jesus in his redemptive mission in the world.”
-
A Missional Life Group (MLG) is a small group of 8–12 Christians living “on mission together.” MLGs are focused on sharing life, growing in faith, and serving others.
-
Missional Life Groups provide a supportive environment that encourages and equips Christians to live a missional lifestyle. To do so, they are organized around three core elements. First, MLGs must be relationally driven. We were created for relationship first with God and then with other people. MLGs also realize that life change happens best in the context of relationships. Second, MLGs must be Jesus centered. Missional Life Groups are passionate about getting to know Jesus through the study of Scripture, prayer, spiritual disciplines, and serving others. Thirdly, MLGs must be outward focused. MLGs realize that they exist for those who are not yet a part of it. Missional Life Groups are about doing life together, on mission with Jesus.
-
MLGs meet weekly as consistency is essential to doing life and mission together. Each group selects a day and time that works best for its members. Most groups meet in homes, though other venues such as coffee shops, parks, or community spaces are also suitable.

There probably won’t be any two MLG meetings that are exactly alike. There will be some weeks that your group will be engaged in some type of service project or do some type of recreational event together. (These are always great opportunities to invite new people!) During the regular weekly meeting groups gather and connect by sharing a meal or refreshments together. Members will check-in with each other concerning personal updates, highlights from the past week, and celebrate answered prayer. During a worship time, groups may sing a few worship songs and spend time praying for one another, for neighbors and friends, and for their shared mission. A significant amount of time is set aside for Bible study aimed at helping members grow in faith and understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and then apply those truths into their daily lives. As the meeting draws to a close, each person will identify one practical step they will take in the next week as they apply the biblical truths discovered in the study time as well as how they will seek to show and share the love of Jesus. The group then closes in prayer – praying for each member’s commitment and any pressing needs in the group.
